Hana Tawhiri-Jones

Played by Manaia Judd

Hana is a kind-hearted people pleaser from a wealthy family disconnected from her Māori heritage. She’s a shy, creative soul, often found in lala land. Hana comes from a wealthy family from Auckland's North Shore. Her parents are married with busy work lives, but have always been supportive of Hana's hobbies. Growing up, Hana didn't show much interest in her Māori heritage or culture. As she got older, she struggled to connect with and accept her Māori identity.

Marlene Munro

Played by Georgia Benton

Self-absorbed, wild, and funny. Marley is chaotic and doesn’t think before she speaks, which often gets her told off in the friend group. Marley comes from an older Pākehā family living below the poverty line. Her family holds racist views and tends to blame others for their problems. Marley doesn't get along with her family members, often finding herself at odds with them. However, she sometimes catches herself adopting their behaviors, which bothers her. More than anything, Marley wants to break free from her family's toxic influence.

Played by Amy Workman

Alice is a loud, funny, entitled individual who loves a party. She comes from a wealthy overseas family and lives separately from her friends due to strict parents. Alice comes from a wealthy family based overseas, but having spent most of her life in Auckland, New Zealand, she considers it home. She resides alone in a CBD apartment, a result of her parents' disapproval of her friends. Her parents cover her expenses, including a Black Amex card. However, their interactions are strained, limited to criticizing her grades and making her feel guilty. Despite Alice having come out at a young age, her parents refuse to accept her sexuality. As a result, she spends most of her time at the shared flat with her friends.

Eli’s lack of interest in his cultural heritage begins to transform into an inspired curiosity after watching Hana’s journey from the sidelines.
